Experience a day rich in tradition, history, and culture, with 50% of all proceeds from this trip directly supporting the communities in Hakalang. Your day begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel, followed by a ferry ride from Banjul to Barra as foot passengers. Upon arrival, we’ll drive to the village of Sitanunky, where we’ll pay a courtesy visit to the village Alkalo (leader) and present traditional cola nuts. Afterward, we’ll embark on a tour of the village, immersing ourselves in the daily life of rural Gambia. The journey continues with visits to two additional villages, where you’ll experience local industries like a palm oil factory, palm wine production, and a goldsmith’s workshop. Enjoy a traditional Gambian meal under a large tree, followed by lively entertainment from the villagers—so don’t forget your dancing shoes!
